An update in our time

It has been a while since I updated. Since my last update, I’ve lost 8 lbs to 9 lbs and then Christmas happened. I dread to think how much I put back on.

Christmas dinner was epic thanks to the cooking skills of my flatmate. We had roasted Turkey crown, roast spuds, roast parsnips, and slow-cooked beef in red wine. Yes, there were vegetables – peas and carrots. I loath peas and had none whatsoever. I did have a lot of Yorkshire puddings, pigs in blankets and stuffing wrapped in bacon. Not to mention chocolates, Christmas pud, and sundry tasty beverages.

I went to bed at OMG-it-is-almost-time-to-get-up o’clock. I spelt for 10+ hours. All of which explains why my back and neck hate me today.

There is an open house at a friend’s place this evening but I do not think I can go, mostly on account of all of the worst head and neck symptoms triggering each other.

The reason for my lack of update has been a substantial change in my workflow. I started using obsidian.md which is a note-taking app and so much more. As part of my daily journalling, I have a template for recording pain, stiffness, mood and day type. My brain is only good at reporting the one time.

As I mentioned, I’ve lost some weight and so treated myself to a new office chair. This has been great for my knees (because it is higher), good for my back (because I can adjust the incline of the backrest), and motivation to keep going. What triggered this purchase was that I now weigh under the max-weight limit of many chairs on the market (rather than just the very expensive ones).

That’s my seasonal update. Things mostly going well; fewer bad days; a change of workflow; and I stuffed my face yesterday.

How was your Christmas?
