A short story about a prayer

Today I went along to a bible study. We talked about encouragement and healing. It’s all normal stuff. I’m trying to keep up but my head and neck were unhappy with me. I figure that if I keep calm I can get home and take some pills before it gets too much worse.

Then arrives a lady who is not having a good time of things. The group decided to pray for her. I’m asked to say a prayer. I don’t remember much of what I said but the gist was, “please let there be healing.”

Afterwards, I noticed my neck and head had calmed right down and I was feeling almost normal.

There’s no particular point to this story other than to say I feel like today will be a good day after all.

I’m sure my atheist friends can offer some perfectly logical explanations which for all I know might be right. All I know is that I feel better now. The rest I leave to greater minds than I.
