Doing stuff

Thanks to the correct alignment of the stars or something, I have been doing stuff. This is a game changer for me and my ability to feel good about myself.

I’m not going to lie, my home was starting to look like a hoarder’s home; all my projects that were just getting started had stalled out, with each blocking another.

Then one thing changed.

Rather than let myself feel blocked because one thing was waiting so nothing else could happen, I did something different. I started telling myself not to wait passively but to “just get started”. After all, if it was worth doing at all, it was worth doing badly, incompletely, and half-arsed. That’s because some progress is better than no progress.

This week I have disassembled some old furniture and recycled the wood for a gardening project, spent some savings on tools I need (but don’t have or can’t find), and started a podcasting project with a friend.

Am I doing these things in a timely manner? Well, no. In an orderly pattern? Also no. Am I doing them? Yes, things are being done.

Who knew that being busy could feel so good?

Also, I am tired, and everything hurts. The AxialSpa piper still has to be paid.
