Longer, longer, longer last sleep 😴

Today I went to bed a little after midnight. I woke up just now (about 18 hours later). Which is longer than the last sleep I had before that.

What is long sleep?

This extra long kip put me in the mood to see what the Internet had to say about sleeping for long stretches. I struggled to find any UK sources as they all seemed concerned with people who had difficulty sleeping.

The American Sleep Association had this to say:

Long sleeping is an uncommon sleep finding or disorder characterized by the body’s inclination to remain asleep for longer periods of time than would otherwise be deemed typical. This often results in 10 to 12 hours of sleep each night for people with the disorder.

I did find some other sources and the general consensus was “oh my god, you’re going to die”.

I think what I need is a coffee.

It sure is worrying though.
