Success update and Ankylosing Spondylitis review

Time for an all-purpose update and check-in.

First, the success (weight loss win)

I honestly cannot remember if I have reported my general lack of progress in the Become Less Fat Quest Line. For two consecutive weighings, I was not-quite-a-pound up on the previous one. My last one was quite a bit different.

I’ve been holding steady around 21st 1lb to 2lb. Yesterday I came in at 20st 9.9lb.

The app that goes with my scales showed me this D&D alignment chart (right or above depending on screen size). Apparently, I am chaotic good or submit IDK.

I’m not sure how dependable all these other stats are but I like tracking my numbers over time. Which should surprise no one who knows how much of a nerd I can be.

Something I don’t understand about this good news

I was feeling down about my lack of weight loss progress. I figured I needed to make more lifestyle changes to get my weight going down again.

I did not make any changes. In fact, I ate a lot of ice cream, pizza, and chocolate in the run-up to my weigh-in. Nevertheless, off went the weight.

I’m not complaining. I’m just saying I don’t have any ideas about how to repeat it.

Ankylosing Spondylitis

I’ve been on Imraldi for a while now. It is expansive AF which is why I am so grateful for the NHS. Without the UK’s (far from perfect) universal health care program, I would be cut off from this advanced medication. As a result, I would likely be dead by my own hand because the pain was unbearable prior to this current treatment.

The crippling symptoms had been gone for a while. Recently, they have come back.

All hope is not lost. At my last review, I was told to make an appointment if symptoms continue. I guess, I will be doing that.

Bath Hospital referral update

I have been seeking a referral to the specialist physio program at Bath Hospital since before COVID. The consultant sent off a referral a year and a bit ago. As there has been no reply, they have sent a fresh referral.

While that is far from the news I wanted, there seems little point getting all worked up about it. I’ll try to be more proactive about chasing this up in the future.

Technical side note

While writing this post, I noticed that I had broken the stats block that goes under the post. I’m going to fix that next.
